GhostJam Games - Community Code of Conduct

TL;DR: Be respectful. No harassment, hate, spam, cheats, or illegal stuff. Follow platform rules, disclose sponsorships, and listen to moderators. Break the rules and you may be warned, muted, or banned.

This Code of Conduct (“CoC”) applies to all GhostJam Games communities and services - Discords, forums, social channels, playtests, in‑game chats, and anywhere else we host or manage (“Services”). It sits alongside (and does not replace) our Terms of Service. If there's ever a conflict, the ToS controls.

1) Core Principles

1. Be respectful. Treat others like humans, not targets.
2. Keep it safe. No harassment, hate, or conduct that makes the space unsafe.
3. Play fair. No cheats, exploits, or automation tools.
4. Follow the law. Don't post or request illegal content or advice.
5. Respect IP & privacy. Don't share things you don't own or have rights to.
6. Listen to moderators. Their calls stand; use the appeal path if you disagree.

2) Prohibited Behavior & Content

You may not post, share, solicit, or engage in conduct that:

Harmful / Abusive

• Is threatening, bullying, harassing, defamatory, or abusive.
• Is obscene, pornographic, lewd, sexually provocative/suggestive, or extremely violent.
• Encourages self-harm, vigilantism, or other unsafe behavior.

Hate & Discrimination

• Includes slurs, hate speech, or attacks targeted at protected classes (e.g., race, color, gender, age, religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity).

Spam & Commercial Solicitation

• Constitutes spam (repeating messages/content, unsolicited promotions).
• Is chain letters, junk mail, pyramid or referral schemes.
• Advertises inappropriate or unrelated commercial products/activities without permission.

Safety & Comfort

• Discourages, restricts, or inhibits others from using the Service.
• Makes the community hostile, unsafe, or uncomfortable for others.

Cheating & Unauthorized Software

• Hacks, modifies, automates (bots), or otherwise tampers with the Service.
• Uses, distributes, or discusses cracks, exploits, malware, or security‑bypassing tools.

Legal & Rights Violations

• Violates any law or infringes on third‑party rights (copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, defamation, etc.).
• Impersonates GhostJam staff or claims affiliation (Admin, Moderator, GM, employee, etc.) when you're not.
• Requests login credentials or other sensitive personal information from users.

Technical Misuse

• Overloads or interferes with the Service (e.g., DDoS, resource abuse).
• Uploads or links to viruses, worms, trojans, or corrupted files/data.

Identity & Evasion

• “Spoofs” your identity, uses duplicate accounts to evade moderation, or otherwise attempts to mislead users or staff.

NDA / Leaks / Confidential Info

• Shares confidential materials, playtest content, or NDA‑restricted information.
• Publishes embargoed footage or details before the NDA/embargo is lifted.

Catch‑All

• Anything else GhostJam Games, in our sole discretion, deems offensive, harmful, or damaging to the community, the Service, or our business.

3) Content Rating & NSFW

• Keep discussions and content appropriate to the channel's rating (e.g., no NSFW in general channels).
• No explicit sexual content or sexually suggestive content involving minors - zero tolerance.

4) Cheats, Exploits & Data Mining

• No cheating, exploiting, or reverse engineering of our games or Services.
• No distribution or discussion of hacks, cracks, or bypass tools.
• Reporting exploits to us privately is welcome; publicizing them is not.

5) Impersonation & Misrepresentation

• Don't claim to be affiliated with GhostJam Games (staff, moderator, etc.) if you're not.
• Don't mislead others about your identity, role, or authority.

6) Reporting & Moderation

How to report
- Contact a moderator in the (discord)[https://discord.gg/ghostjam] server.
- Please include links, timestamps, screenshots, and a short description.

What we can do
At our discretion, we may:
- Remove content
- Issue a warning
- Mute, time-out, or suspend access
- Ban permanently
- Revoke keys, program access (e.g., creator/playtest), or perks
- Report to platforms or law enforcement where appropriate

Appeals
- If you believe a moderation decision was made in error, you may appeal once at [[email protected]] with relevant context.
- Appeals don't guarantee reversal.

7) Playtests, Early Access & NDAs

• If you participate in internal playtests or receive early builds, you may be required to sign and comply with an NDA.
• No sharing of footage, screenshots, or information until we explicitly lift the NDA/embargo.
• Once lifted, you can publish within the scope we authorize.

8) Enforcement Scope

This CoC applies to:
- All GhostJam Games Services and official spaces.
- User behavior outside our spaces when it directly impacts our community's safety or violates applicable law (e.g., targeted harassment, doxxing, credible threats).

9) Final Word

GhostJam Games reserves the right to interpret and enforce this Code of Conduct at our sole discretion, update it as needed, and take action on behavior that isn't listed here but still undermines community safety, comfort, or integrity. See our Terms of Service for the full legal framework.
