Today we opened the garage doors and rolled out Backseat Drivers: Free Test Drive on Steam. Starting now, you and a friend can download the demo and try to survive the world's least road‑worthy car. One player drives with almost no visibility, the other shouts directions from the only seat with a view, and the universe seems determined to wreck whatever is left of the vehicle.
What the demo includes
- Online co‑op for two players
- Built‑in voice and notification chat (UI for directions) so you can coordinate… or argue
- Physics that reward creative problem‑solving and produce spectacular crashes
Why we are offering a Free Test Drive
Backseat Drivers lives and dies by how well two players communicate. Letting everyone test the chaos now helps us fine‑tune difficulty, polish levels, and add accessibility options before the full launch.
How to get involved
Download the demo, invite a friend, and share your feedback in our Discord. Streams, highlight clips, and bug reports all help us steer development in the right direction.
Grab the keys and let us know how long your friendship survives the first detour.
